While working for a paper company in the early 80’s, Snow Business founder Darcey Crownshaw received a request for a batch of paper stock to make fake snow. Fascinated by this whole new area of winter effects Darcey began supplying film and television companies. Brimming with ideas and enthusiasm he began to see where products and systems could be improved setting up Snow Business with the aim of becoming the best in the business. In 1982  Darcey invented SnowCel the first eco-friendly, recycled paper based snow introduced on Neil Jordan’s "Company of Wolves" in 1984.

Within a few short years Snow Business was established as the world leader in snow and winter effects with a reputation for professionalism and innovation that the Company is proud of and works hard to maintain. One of the latest developments is a fast expanding polymer that, when mixed with water, expands 4,000% making it easy to transport and store on location. Just imagine, you can carry 2 cubic metres of instant snow in your briefcase. It’s not just artificial snow and ice effects that Snow Business are renowned for. The team have spent years creating, developing and improving the systems and techniques to deliver the desired effects quickly and efficiently.
