From a 10ft pile of snowballs to an igloo for an Artic drama we can provide a combination of preformed shapes and fake snow to achieve the winter effects you need.
Snowballs | |
Snow Business has a number of artificial snows that can be gathered up and made into snowballs - just like real snow. It can be done in front of camera and then thrown to create a totally realistic snowball fight. We also have brittle foam shapes that can be sprayed with snow products to create totally believable snowballs for display.
SnowmenLike the snowballs we create our Snowmen can be preformed and dressed to match the set/venue or created from artificial snow and come ready for action.
Static Snowmen | |
A rough styrene former is used to create the basic bulk and shape required. Over this a top dressing is applied using the same snow and ice materials as elsewhere on the set. After a little 'refining' and 'distressing' a seamless and realistic image is created. We can also offer a resin moulded snowman which is more durable.
Action SnowmenSnowmen can be built that allow actors to interact with them as scripted. A head can be finished to camera, a carrot nose added, or the whole snowman destroyed. Using a variety of techniques a snowman can be created to suit exactly the action required.
Moving Freizes3D or flat backed moving Snowmen can be installed on rooftops or on stage to create a dazzling Christmas display that won’t melt when the sun comes out.
Igloos | |
Authentic igloos are made of blocks of packed snow, which we can recreate using either a styrene former or brittle foam, and then snow dressing. When blocks of brittle foam are used you can even get actors to build the igloo to camera. However, if you want to illuminate the igloo to give the effect of sunlight penetrating the snow or a night time cooking fire, then a more translucent material is used. Interior scenes are created using the same building techniques over structural supports, which means that large sections can removed to give access for cameras and crew or to allow an Igloo to be cut in half for a display.
